Very large, rectangular French Empire period mirror (circa 1815) with stripped cream gesso and terracotta and gilt frame. The raised decoration is a mixture of intricate, classic foliate designs interspaced with rosettes. The original, sparkling, mercury plate is in generally very good condition with just a few light patches of age. This mirror can be hung portrait or landscape.
